Veteran PTSD Depression and Military Sexual Trauma Help

When Scott left the Army, he was managing a traumatic brain injury (TBI) and PTSD along with the demands of a newborn. Seeing he was overwhelmed and feeling hopeless, his wife reached out to VA.

Veterans enrolled in VA health care have access to high-quality mental health services, including inpatient and outpatient care for PTSD, depression, readjustment, substance use disorders, military sexual trauma and more. Vet Centers also provide a variety of counseling services to eligible Veterans.

“They got me fast-forwarded into the mental health treatment, the treatment for TBI, physical therapy, going to see the doctor – it was all done at the VA Medical Center,” says Scott. He urges other Veterans to reach out. “Go to the VA, tell them what’s going on and they’ll help point you in the right direction.”
